About Us

Brad Banks, PE (center in picture) is the owner of Bridgewater Engineering, He has 12 years of experience in civil engineering with an emphasis in construction and structural design.  His previous experience working as an engineer for a public works contractor, an engineering design consultant, and finally as a client representative of both of those services have helped refined his ability to identify how to work as a team to ensure the successful execution of projects from initial design conception to final construction closeout.

Mr. Banks’s construction experience as a contractor includes: construction of a low water dam, water intake lift stations, water storage reservoirs, water transmission lines, elevated control buildings, cofferdam construction and dewatering, concrete slabs, post-tension foundations, retaining walls, and a variety of forming, shoring, steel reinforcing, and finishing operations.  His experience as a boots-on-the-ground project manager has allowed him to gain intimate knowledge of construction means, methods, and standards of operation for both contractors and material suppliers.

In his role as a consulting engineer, his experience includes projects such as bank stabilization and erosion repair, concrete tilt-wall buildings, and bridge reconstruction.  His past and current duties include design recommendations and analysis, plan and specification production, design analysis, quantity take-offs, quality control, cost estimating, construction contract document production, bid-phase support services, as well as construction administration and inspection.

Mr. Banks’s experience as a client representative comes from his time spent serving as an operations manager for one of the nation’s largest inland river ports.  In this role, he was directly responsible for oversight of a 2,500 acre inland river port and industrial park’s physical operations including engineering, construction, maintenance and operation of all rail, rolling stock, streets, grounds, waterways, harbor, docks, towboats, cranes, storm water, landscaping, security, emergency management, and various government, commercial, and industrial facilities.  His typical responsibilities included project budgeting, staffing, consultant selection and oversight, acquiring detailed knowledge of typical trans-loading operations, land lease and operating contract crafting and enforcement, establishment of standard operating procedures, pursuing and administering grants, creation and oversight of grounds and equipment maintenance programs, identifying long-term infrastructure needs, and coordinating with local businesses, government agencies, and the general public on a routine basis.

Mr. Banks also brings experience working on state level transportation projects as part of Oklahoma’s first Strategic Freight Plan Oversight Committee and working with elected officials and state agencies in researching and crafting legislative language relevant to freight transportation.

Brad currently resides in Midtown Tulsa with his wife Lene of 15 years, and his four children.
